ANEX A is an ANFO explosive based on porous ammonium nitrate prills and oil, characterized by a relatively low detonation velocity and high gas volume. It has the advantage of completely filling the borehole, which provides good blasting performance. ANEX A is manufactured from prills that offer good loadability but also make it relatively sensitive to water in the borehole.
HYDRANEX B is an ANFO explosive with increased resistance to water. This has been achieved by incorporating components that cause the explosive to quickly form a protective gel when in contact with water.
